Prohibition Raid Seizes Moonshine and Beer at Local Saloons
Providence offiers conducted raids at three local saloons last Saturday. At 171 Bradford Street Frankie Santo attempted to hide moonshine and a bottle of coloring fluid was seized. Luigi Malafronte’s saloon yielded 9 quarts of moonshine a five gallon jug of whiskey and beer and 26 cases of beer. Dominick Mascolo’s saloon at 410 Wood Street saw five barrels of real beer seized.

Americanization School Social Opens Monthly Series
The Americanization School held the first in a series of monthly socials Friday at Reynolds School auditorium. All 116 pupils attended and joined crafts, games, singing, and a peanut contest led by teachers. A committee from each class was elected to plan future entertainments.
