Edwin Cure Adjudged Probably Guilty in Craig Murder
Edwin Cure was held without bail after being adjudged probably guilty in the murder of Elijah Craig on October 1. Judge F H Hammill ordered continued grand jury action as two nearby witnesses testified Cure struck Craig with a galvanized pail in Cure's yard on Kirkemuit avenue. Craig died at Rhode Island Hospital at 2 the morning after the assault.

Press Club Outing to Franklin Mass Delights Rhode Island Guests
About 20 Rhode Island Press Club members and women guests toured Franklin Massachusetts on a fall outing. They were welcomed by Editor Carl B Johnson and a business committee, visited the Golding Manufacturing Company and Ray Memorial Library, lunched at Norfolk Inn, and admired Franklin’s schools streets and civic amenities. Franklin was praised as a thriving modern town with progressive features and ample public services.

Evening schools opened at Colt High School
Evening sessions for grammar, grades, and a new American Government course began at Colt Memorial High School. Principal William W. Lee Jr. oversees both programs as Bailey Jr. declined the grades post. Four nights per week replace three, with small initial registrations of 15 in high school and 25 in grades. Superintendent DeCoudres started duties yesterday and expects rising attendance.

Rally Day services were held at the State Street M E Church with flags and flowers adorning the interior. 37 veterans from the Soldiers Home attended the morning service along with elderly residents from nearby homes. Ezra Dixon and others provided cars. The evening program featured a 7 30 concert by the Sunday School and choir led by Miss Lillian Nicholas with readings on Bishop Asbury and Philip Embury, an Ethel Blaisdell duet, and a benediction by Rev. Dr A C McGilton.

Welcome Home Parade Rhode Island Troops Parade in Providence
The Bristol Train of Artillery has accepted an invitation to participate in the Providence parade next Saturday afternoon to welcome Rhode Island troops home from the Mexican border. They will depart on the 1.20 train in dress uniforms at 2.30. The military division includes Coast Artillery Corps escort, Rhode Island Cavalry, Ambulance Company No 1, Battery A Field Artillery, Naval Battalion, Bristol Train of Artillery, Warren Artillery, United Train of Artillery, Kentish Guards, First Light Infantry, Newport Artillery, plus civic groups in follow-on divisions.

At Cres cent Park last Wednesday Bristol entries swept classes with Fred Dodge taking first in English setter puppies Edward J. Ryan first in novice English setters Thomas L. Flynn third in Boston terrier puppies and Glendyne Kennels claiming multiple top prizes including best Irish setter. At Fitchburg Kennel Club show Glendyne Kennels earned first in limit and winners classes plus the Irish Setter Club’s Cup for best Irish setter bitch.
