The Bristol Female Charitable Society outlines its 1926 year ending October with steady work, pension payments totaling over 750 dollars, and ongoing fundraising by friends including annual member additions. Six Bristol policemen three doctors and about a score of witnesses appeared before the Providence grand jury Wednesday to testify in the murder case of Joseph Bruno of this town. Bruno is charged with killing Antone Enos Medeiros of Fall River at Bruno’s Bradford street residence Oct 6 and with assault with a dangerous weapon on James Fragosa of Fall River the same night.
State Board of Soldiers Relief votes to mark unmarked graves in North Providence and nearby cemeteries. A three member sub committee will obtain and install grave stones supplied by the US Army to identify Civil War Spanish American and World War veterans. Information should include name company regiment enlistment date and consent from relatives where possible.
The Belle of Barcelona a musical comedy will be presented in the auditorium of Colt Memorial High School on November 18 and 19 by Senor Class members under Mrs Theresa Sullivan supervisor of music. Cast includes Oscar Hervig Josephine Coggeshall Margaret Johnson Magdalen Shaw Lewis Fryans Domeme Troano John Victoria Max Phenes Oswald LeClair Charlotte Suzman Elizabeth Dwyer Norgina LeClair Edward Peterson Frederick Vera and Frederick Brownell.
Aram J Pothier was renominated for Governor at the Republican State convention Wednesday. Other nominees include Maj Norman S Case for Lieutenant Governor, Ernest L Sprague for Secretary of State, Charles P Sisson for Attorney General, George C Clark for General Treasurer, Clark Burdick for Congress First District, Richard S Aldrich for Second District, and Louis Monast for Third District. Ezra Dixon and Mrs Elizabeth Anthony elected to the State Central Committee.
Many people attended the inaugural meeting of the Woman's Foreign Mission Auxiliary of the First Congregational Church held Wednesday afternoon at President Mrs Cornelius' home on Brouck State Street. The Moslem World was announced as the year's subject with topics to be discussed at each meeting. Reports from the secretary and treasurer were read and accepted.
