Namquit Mill horseshoe league concluded with an Italian spaghetti supper at the Collins & Aikman Girls Club on Thames street. John Francis led Team No 5 to first place after a 14‑game round robin and a later playoff, with prizes donated by Albert Menard.

Nancy Allen Named Miss NRA For Bristol Blue Eagle Parade

Ten year old Nancy Allen daughter of Mr and Mrs Harry DeWolf Allen has been chosen to represent Miss NRA in the NRA parade planned for October 21 in Bristol Col Alfred Merriman M D chief marshal announced at a meeting The girl will ride a white horse carry the national colors and be accompanied by mounted aides led by her father Town Clerk John W Church and William C Hobbs Jr The lineup includes nine divisions with bands and marshals from local officials veterans groups and civic leaders The parade organizers will meet again at 8 15 tonight at the Artillery Hall to finalize plans and assignments

The Bristol Council No. 379 Knights of Columbus opens a fall and winter concert series at its State street home. A local orchestra will perform selections and Post State Deputy Walter F Fitzpatrick of Providence will give an address. Open to members and friends.

Annual Harvest Supper Held by the Ivy Guild

Seventy members attended the Ivy Guild of St Michael's Church annual harvest supper before the regular monthly meeting. Decorations featured harvest flowers and autumn leaves. The committee included Mrs William Wood as chairman and Mrs E Brownell Mrs John R Magee Mrs James Wood and Mrs John H Wall. At the meeting the annual donation to the Harvest Festival was made.

Columbus Day Address by High School Pupil

Joseph Sansone, 17, a Bristol native who grew up in Italy, was chosen by Principal Edward J Fitzgerald to speak at Columbus Day exercises. He discussed Italy the Land of Columbus using posters around the auditorium and received a warm reception for his story of mastering English after moving to this country as a child.

Boy Scout Notes Outline NRA Parade Activities

The Bugle and Drum Corps will lead the third NRA parade in Warren on Saturday afternoon with the Boys and Girls division marshaled by John J Callahan. Scouts meet tomorrow at 1 pm. A Court of Honor session is set for next Tuesday at 7 pm in the Scout Building. Bristol Troops will participate in the NRA parade next week with floats in the second division. Troop 4 plans Halloween observances this evening, and Troop 1 hosts Advancement Night next Monday with tender foot investure. Officials plan for Troop 37 entertainment next month and a weekend hike to Camp Yangoog in November. A Halloween party committee is formed at Troop 5 meeting with Maurice Smith, Edmund Houle, and Bernard Grabert. A Bugle and Drum Corps business meeting next Tuesday will discuss new equipment. The Bristol Advisory Committee meets Oct 24 at Warren High School. The Narragansett Council Fall Round-Up is Oct 2 in Newport with a parade afternoon feature.

Night Hawks Sweep Nelcos In Bowling Series Victory

Captain Bill Seymour led the Night Hawks to a clean sweep by defeating the Nelcos 1878 to 1706 on State Street alleys Tuesday evening. Buster Darling was top scorer for the winners, while Ed Bullock starred for the losers.

About 100 people attended the annual harvest supper by the Parish Aid Society of St. Michael's Church in the parish house. Tables featured seasonal flowers and candles as the general arrangements committee led by Mrs. Charles O. F. Thompson acted as waitresses.
