World Wide Guild Banquet at First Baptist Church

The World Wide Guild of the First Baptist Church held its annual banquet last evening in the church vestry with ship decor and a lighthouse centerpiece. Mrs Pedley hosted as toastmistress, with speakers Miss Bertha Alger, Miss Dora Bailey, and Mrs Estelle Peters presenting on Radio Guild Rays and Race Relations. Soprano solos by Mrs Harry Bullock accompanied by Miss Dora Bailey, and supper committee led by Mrs Doris Bullock.

Firemen’s League banquet open to Green and Callan

Governor Green and Brig. Gen. Callan attended a Rhode Island State Fireman’s League banquet at the State Armory in Providence with over 400 attendees. Chief Anderson of Bristol presided as league president and Fire Chief Charlesworth of Providence acted as toastmaster amid calls for workers’ compensation-like benefits for injured volunteers.
