Bartlett, local chair, called for large support and noted the drive consolidates smaller campaigns into one annual effort. Special Church Service Dedicates New Lights in Pawtucket

The First Congregational Church hosts a 7 30 Sunday service with Rev Vernon W. Cooke and Rev James H Lightbourne attending. The event includes special music and dedicatory prayers. It marks the final service of Rev Herbert D Graetz who resigns to lead a Florida church. A reception follows in the Chapel.

Catholic Girls Club Plans Halloween Party at Home

After a weekly bowling session at High Street Alleys, the Catholic Girls Club met at Miss Virginia McLaughlin's home on Cottage Street. They advanced plans for a Halloween party to be held October 31, location to be decided. Refreshments were served and dancing enjoyed. assisting were Eva Ryone and Helen L Preble.

Kearney Legion Plans Halloween Children's Parade

The Kearney Post No 6 American Legion furthers plans for a Halloween night parade for children. Two-State Conference Held Here Next Week

President Carl R Woodward of Rhode Island State College will open the two day fall meeting of the Association of Boys Work Secretaries of Massachusetts and Rhode Island at Rockledge on Ferry Hill. Dr Woodward speaks on Counseling Youth For Higher Education with G Latimer Hannum and Harold R Burke among Wednesday presenters. A field trip to the Indian Relic Museum is planned and Thursday features George A De Forest and others from Pawtucket Y and MIT.

Police Chief Reports Parking Fine Increase On Hope Street

Police Chief Anthony J. Ferrara said many parking tags were issued to motorists who hadn’t read the papers and noted the department began enforcing the one hour limit on Hope Street Monday. He added the situation is clearing up and should be straightened out soon.

British brides seek transport to join US husbands in Britain

At the American Embassy in London a delegation of British wives of US servicemen pressed for travel to the United States to reunite with their husbands. The group, representing about 40,000 wives, asks authorities to coordinate a fair transportation program as officers study possible solutions with the Army and Navy.
