Bristol School Board approves pay raise for 42 teachers
Bristol School Committee last night extended salary increases to 42 veteran teachers with 15 or more years of service and made the raises retroactive to Sept 1. The district funded the raise from budget savings and enrollment drops, while rejecting a $200 raise for all teachers.

Legion Plans Halloween Party In Bristol
Kearney Post American Legion will sponsor the Bristol Halloween party on Tuesday October 31. The event targets two age groups with a junior high auditorium activity for younger kids and a YMCA teen dance. A costume parade starts at the town common, with supervision by Commander Riccio Senior Vice Commander Sousa and Junior Vice Commander Medek. The Legion fund balance stands at 167.50 with a drive planned for 65 to 75 more. total cost about 225. Bristol residents are urged to support the event to keep kids off streets and reduce property damage.
