Boston Exposition Opens at Mechanics Building
On Monday October 5 the Mechanics Building in Boston opens to the public for five weeks, hosting New England’s largest exposition. At 3 pm the fair is officially opened by Mayor Gox Woolcott and other officials. Reeves and leading bands will attend. Also noted is Bryan’s campaign mileage and speeches, a railroad timetable change reducing Bristol train service, and ongoing debates on capital punishment following Judge Wilbur’s Rhode Island stance. Crime appears to be rising with imprisonment not deterring the worst criminals in the state.
