Girl's scalp torn in Narragansett Rubber Co accident

Miss Philomena Peters fifteen worked after school at the Narragansett Rubber Company stitching room when her braided hair was caught in a shaft. Her scalp and left ear were torn off and clothing stripped. She was treated at the factory, then taken to Rhode Island Hospital aided by her sister and Rev. Rebello.

Bristol Town Nationals edge Crescents 13 to 12 in photo finish

The National football team of Bristol Town defeated the Crescents of Providence 13 to 12 at Usher’s field Bristol Neck on Sunday. A second half 60 yard run and a forward pass produced the winning touchdown after the visitors led 12 to 7. Spectators praised Manager Dwyer’s squad as they prepare to face the Narragansetts next Sunday. The Colt Memorial High School team then beat Blackstone 26 to 6 on the common with four touchdowns and two goals. Bosworth’s 75 yard run stood out though the touchdown was ruled no good.

HonksHonks Triumph in YMCA Bowling

The HonksHonks defeated South Ends two games to one in last evening’s YMCA bowling match. Scores were not fully readable but implied a close three-string set.

Bristol County Poultry Show Opens at Grand Army Hall

Seventh annual exhibition begins next Monday at Grand Army Hall in Bristol County. Over 200 entries expected with ribbons and special premiums. George L. Cornell to supervise hall. judges include D J Lambert and William H Allen. pigeon judge George Feather. Association officers include Dr. Howard W. Church as president and James Clarkson as secretary treasurer.

In the Fifth District Court Judge F H Hammill presided as defendants faced cases including Federico Corvina pleading not guilty to assault with a revolver and his case continued for a week Raffaele Puopolo pleaded guilty to reveling on Bradford street on Thanksgiving and fined $3 and costs Ernesto Teodosio found guilty of assault on Nicola Abatahtoné with a National India Rubber Company weapon and fined nearly $36 a year end summary notes several civil cases continued two weeks and a juvenile court session admonished a Warren boy for gunning on Mount Hope lands with posted forbiddance notices and three local gun violators ordered to appear next Monday

Another Store Robbed on Hope Street

A store owned by Joe Felson on Hope Street near St. Michael's Church was broken into Sunday night. Cigarettes candy and pennies were stolen. A gum machine was opened and emptied. The north window and rear door were found unsettled. Chief Dwyer is investigating and police suspect youths.

Baker Collins Wedding In Providence At State Street Church

Melvin Orren Baker of East Providence and Florence Beatrice Collins of this town were married Saturday at 2 PM at the State Street M E Church parsonage by Rev A C McGilton. A reception followed at the bride’s parents home 856 Hope Street. The couple will live in East Providence after a brief wedding trip.
