Rhode Island Library Association Annual Meeting Highlights

The Rhode Island Library Association met yesterday at St Michael the Archangel Chapel Bristol under Rogers Free Library auspices. Officers elected include H L Koopman Brown University president and Richard Bliss Redwood Library Newport as first vice president with Mrs Harriet Richardson Olneyville Free Library as second vice president and Herbert Olin Brigham State Librarian Providence as secretary treasurer. The afternoon session discussed small libraries and book selection systems with plans to consult the State Board of Education and report later. About 50 attendees from across the state attended with visits to Rogers Free Library and remarks by Rev George L Locke.

Five month old Frank E Sweet dies choking on bottle

Frank E Sweet five months old son of Mr and Mrs George A Sweet died Sunday evening at narragansett avenue home. Baby put to bed at 5 and given bottle then slept until collapse. Mrs Sweet found him dead about 6 80. Dr O R Siegel could not help and medical examiner Dr W F Williams ruled milk flowed too freely choking him. Burial permission granted.
