Blue Cross gains in Rhode Island Bristol lead

The Blue Cross plan reports 3 percent of state members in Bristol, with over 2000 residents enrolled, about one in six Bristol residents. The plan offers three weeks hospital care, semi private or ward service, meals, nursing, operating room use, medicines, lab tests, maternity care after a year, and family coverage for 1.40 monthly per ward. DeLeo Named Juvenile Guidance and Placement Officer

Michael DeLeo of 526 Woodstreet is appointed by Clemens J France to the Division of Probation and Parole as Juvenile Guidance and Placement Officer. The $1920 yearly post aids former state institution and court probation and parolees in finding employment. DeLeo is a Colt Memorial High School and Providence College graduate, with studies at Brown University and Rhode Island College of Education. He previously served as Sixth District probation officer and WPA recreation instructor in recent summers.

Teachers To Sponsor Lecture By Mrs Hart

Bristol County Teachers Association plans a December 11 lecture at Colt Memorial high school auditorium by Philomena Hart of the Evening Bulletin. Her talk Milord of the Moustache Cup humorously examines etiquette of the past. Proceeds benefit charitable and civic efforts in three Bristol County towns and the Bristol Recreation Board.

Disaster Committee Selects Meeting Sites

The Red Cross Disaster Committee met at the Legion Home and set meeting sites for subcommittees in a disaster. YMCA is the food shelter and clothing hub while Holmes House hosts rallying points for survey transportation registration and information fund raising public information and central purchasing. The rescue committee will meet at the disaster scene and Rockwell House. Dr Paul Bruno begins first aid training for rescue members led by Donat J Gladue.

Bristol Boy Scout Bugle Corps concert draws big crowd

The Bristol Boy Scout Bugle and Drum Corps held its second annual concert and revue at Colt High School before a large audience. Prizes went to Joseph Castro for bugle and John Freitas for drum. proceeds fund new uniforms and equipment.

Recreation Group Plans Girls Activities in Bristol

Warren L. Huston the Bristol schools athletic director will leave Monday to begin as assistant coach at Newton High School in Massachusetts. Elena Society Plans October Spaghetti Supper
