Michael DeLeo On TV Tomorrow Special program on refugees

Michael A DeLeon state chair of the Governors Committee on the Refugee Relief Program will appear with Professor Andrew Gyorgy of Budapest on WJAR TV Channel 10 at 630 pm tomorrow evening. DeLeon will interview and interpret refugee situations and their impact on Hungary and U.S. relations. He cited strong public pledges for homes employment financial and material aid for refugees received after his Wednesday plea.

Congregational Church Marks 100th Anniversary

The Congregational Church at Bradford and High streets marks 100 years since the dedication on November 25, 1856. Built of stone in Gothic style, the edifice cost about $30,000 with a $2,000 organ. pews sold for about $900 at the dedication. Architect Seth H. Ingalls led planning. building committee chaired by William B Spooner and Nathan Bar.

William T Cashin town sergeant for 18 years was unseated by the Town Council by a single vote, replaced by Patrolman Henry J Sylvia Jr after Cashin resigned Nov 14. Police report details Barboza DUI and hit and run

George Barboza aged 24 of 189 Mt Hope avenue faced fines totaling 190 across three towns for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. Dorothy Rodericks said a black sedan struck her car at Hope and Washington and fled. Police traced the car to Manuel Barbosa whose son allegedly drove, with Barboza fined 25 and costs in Bristol and Barrington, 100 in fast Providence for DUI, and 40 and costs for leaving the scene.

Two Cases Heard In District Court

Two cases were heard in district court yesterday morning before Judge James B Linehan. Civil docket included Louis Cavallaro versus Thomas Balzano et al. Balzano alias assumed, Barnishees affidavit accepted. Small claims involved Fred Frank doing business as High Street Shell Station versus Anthony Cabral, judgment for plaintiff for 5 dollars and 50 cents plus costs, subject to affidavit on military service.
