Red Cross Campaign Aims to Cut Home and Farm Injuries
The Red Cross launches a nationwide drive to reduce home and farm hazards that cause about 35 000 deaths annually. James L. Fieser says chapters will identify local hazards and involve schools and families in prevention. Farm safety lags due to access and compensation gaps, though more fatalities occur in agriculture than in any other occupation.
