Providence Soldiers Home Swamped With Donated Magazines
An appeal in a Providence paper for old books and magazines for the Soldiers' Home prompted a flood of periodicals. Commandant Benjamin L. Hall denied requesting the literature but noted the influx as editors stop the flow. He plans to discard worn issues and keep the supply for reading, while many comrades prefer games to reading due to poor eyesight.
