Old Hydraulion Returns Home After Decades Away
The Old Hydraulion hand pumper, recovered by the Bristol Fire Co after a 40 year absence, arrived from a New Bedford warehouse on a low bed truck. The Hydes fought since 1963 to reclaim the pump, later resolving wheel ownership amid a court dispute. The vessel will be stored at Rapota's Garage before repair in Lancaster, with a $5,000 to $7,000 restoration planned and a fund drive to follow.
