Ten-year prison term for De Sousa Jr in Providence
Arthur X De Sousa Jr 24 formerly from this town now at 5 Elbow Street Providence was sentenced to ten years in the State Prison at Howard by Judge Charles A Walsh after pleading guilty to breaking and entering John Correia home and larceny. He had earlier faced deferred sentences for auto theft and a statutory charge involving a 15 year old girl. The judge stressed protecting girls under 16.

The Bristol Town Council appointed a 70 person committee to plan the 250th anniversary of the town’s settlement likely in September 1930. A full committee meeting is set for Nov 26 at 8 PM in John Post Reynolds School to organize the effort and outline plans. An initial $1,000 nucleus fund was appropriated last March with more at upcoming town meetings.
