William Scharff, a Brooklyn dealer, keeps Model T vehicles and parts alive from a basement shop on Myrtle Avenue. Since 1912 he has supplied Carburetors and other components for tens of thousands of cars, preserving a nationwide memory of Ford’s first mass car and its lasting impact. His stock, valued at about 35000 dollars, reflects decades of dedication to the Tin Lizzie.

Alves Killed In Navy Accident
Manuel L. Alves 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Luiz Alves of 26 East State Street, was accidentally shot at Newport Naval Station Gate 4 by guard Charles H. Rhimer 21 of Philadelphia. He died at Newport Naval Hospital and funeral plans were being arranged. Alves had enlisted in the Navy last year two weeks before high school graduation.
