The World War Memorial Committee considers a town hall project near Bristol's center to serve as a memorial and veterans meeting space. Estimated cost is 75,000 dollars with a 4 percent federal grant from the PWA. plan includes town offices and police headquarters. Bingo to aid needy children in Bristol community
Needy children in Bristol will benefit from a grocery bingo Monday night in the Makowsky building on Hope Street. Proceeds go to the Sunshine Fund which distributes clothing to children and baskets to shut-ins via the telephone operators. Last year 35 children and many shut-ins were helped. Prizes and door prizes will be awarded. Mrs Agnes Tattrie chairs the committee with Miss Helena Wells, Miss Elizabeth Marz, Mrs Mabel Lee, and Dorothy M. Foster as ex-officio.
