Judge Benjamin F. Lindemuth dismissed the reckless driving charge against 20 year old Antonio Del Toro of 23 Catherine street due to lack of evidence after Acting Police Chief Anthony J. Ferrara urged dismissal. Del Toro had been arrested Oct. 19 after a truck he operated ran over 11 year old Paul Langello near 39 Bourn street, an incident linked to youths attempting to ride the vehicle. Bail in case of appeal set at $300.

Town May Seek Federal Loan For Fire Station Repairs
At a council meeting John Bernard ERA engineer advised that enlarging the Ever Ready Engine and Hose Company on Thames street cannot be done as an ERA project. He urged submitting the project for a PWA loan due to lack of experienced workmen. Donald Gladue presented plans noting adequate facilities needed. ERA project would cost $2003 with about $750 materials to town, and a 10 percent government rebate would reduce material cost.

Over the weekend no less than three bingo events drew sizable crowds. The Junior Auxiliary of Kearney Post 6 American Legion hosted a Grand Army Hall sale on Friday with Mrs Mary Peters supervising arrangements.
