New Battery C Armory Planned for Bristol Showplace
Plans for Bristol’s Battery C 243rd AAA Gun Battalion armory call for a red brick, one story building on the 368 by 500 foot lot south of the Veterans Home. The design features a 60 by 90 foot drill floor, offices, locker rooms, kitchen and classrooms, with no parapets replacing the old stone fort look. The project, funded mainly by the federal government, aims for a modern, multi-use facility that could serve as an emergency hospital or disaster center and as a community asset with parking and landscaping.
