A new Concert Association in Bristol will open a one week membership drive to fund three season concerts by renowned artists at affordable prices. Memberships grant access to all three events and no individual tickets will be sold. The non profit plan aims to bring artists familiar to Bristol through radio stage and film.
A condensed list of club meetings and social events includes the Ivy Club for girls at the parish house on Tuesdays at 3 30 pm. Fatima Club on Sunday November 14 at 3 pm in St Marys Auditorium. Mite Society at Mrs Otis M Bailey Sr s Collins Street home Tuesday 2 pm. Women s Democratic Club victory ball December 3 at Midway Lees and Lobster House. Also notes Miss Ruth Smith visiting at 1014 Hope St. St Mary s Mothers Club meeting Sunday 2 30 pm. Couples Club meeting Sunday 8 pm with Captain Roger E Wheeler at Holmes House. Amucae Guild program Monday 7 30 pm at First Baptist bestry. First Congregational Church special meeting Tuesday 7 30 pm in DeWolf Memorial Chapel. Bristol YMCA Board of Directors meeting Monday 7 30 pm in Haffenreffer room. Rev Thomas E Little guest speaker on racial tolerance at Bristol Exchange Club. Sadie Hawkins Night by St Michael s Young People on Sunday 7 30 pm with refreshments. house warming for Marion Kavirs at 282 Wood Street with guests. Mrs Earl Thomas speaks on Home and Foreign Mission at the First Congregational Church Weens Missionary Society. PFC John Castro home on six day leave from Parris Island awaiting orders.
The Bristol Council Knights of Columbus inaugurates a three day Golden Jubilee with a Sunday breakfast at St Marys Church and x of C Hall led by Newport clerk John H. Greene Jr. A Mass, talks by Rev Charles C Curran and James F Stewart, and a toast by William T Dwyer begin the celebration. The November 17 banquet at Midway and the November 19 grand ball close the program chaired by Frederick T Goff and J Francis Connell.
The Collins and Aikman Co operation feted its twilight league baseball champions at a recent time held in Cup Defenders Hall. Present were team members, other league teams, Twilight league board of governors, and C and A representatives. Sal Massano, Joseph Farrell, and Gus Spece spoke. the champions received sweaters and group pictures from C and A.
A parish house event is set for November 12 at 7 30 PM, with attendance expected from local residents and church members.
