A three day Armistice Day observance by Kearney Post No. 6 American Legion, led by George R. Fish, featured a banquet with Congressman-elect Aime J. Forand, memorial services by Justice Charles A. Walsh, and a large parade through Bristol with school bands, scouts, and town officials, highlighting patriotism and unity.

A planned Armistice Day bonfire near Metacom Avenue drew a sparse crowd as a haystack blaze burned for hours. The Defiance Company attended but did not intervene, while the arsonist or onlooker watching from a distance remained unseen.

Walter Morin Celebrates 20th Birthday With Surprise Party

Walter Morin was surprised with a birthday gathering at his home on Thames Street. Hostess Mrs Louise Morin led a party of about 35 guests including Loretta Morin Lena Ruggiero and Odile Desmarais. Guests from Graniteville and Providence joined in refreshments dancing and games marking his 20th birthday. Morin is a Colt Memorial High School 1938 graduate employed by F. J. Murphy Oil Co.
