Independents Defeat Hope High In Bristol Football Clash
The Bristol Independents overwhelmed Hope High School of Providence 27 to 0 on the common Saturday afternoon. Wardwell, Herrmann, Thompson and Bradie scored for Bristol, with Wardwell and Bradie adding successful kicks. The visitors threatened briefly in the second half, but Bristol’s defense and sharp passing sealed the win as the home team dominated the first half with 22 points.

The Young Men's Christian Association invites members and Bristol men to hear Prof James McCanaughy speak on The Land of the Bible in Rockwell Hall Thursday night at 8 o'clock. He chairs the English Bible at Mount Hermon School and has studied Palestine. The talk will use atereopticon slides from his travels and marks the organizing of a Men's Bible Study Club, meeting monthly and open to all.

The Bristol School Committee met to review a disinfecting proposal for closets and rooms and to hear Superintendent Reynolds report on monthly attendance. They elected Mrs. Jessie L. Charman of Wilton NH as commercial teacher at Bristol High School replacing JF Ganey, and noted Mrs. Oharman's qualifications. The group discussed grade changes from nine to eight, funds spent and bills approved, and a class guidance meeting on reducing graduation expenses. Evening school attendance totaled 27 students.

The Bristol Chapter D A R held its regular meeting in Memorial Hall with 28 members present. Regent Mrs Edward G Easterbrooks presided as Annie E MacDougall led the afternoon program featuring Catherine Levere who read the prize winning essay on Puritan Governors and was thanked with a carnation bouquet.
