The Town Council at its Wednesday meeting received 21 liquor license applications, four more than last year, with a pledge that total licenses granted will not exceed prior year. A hearing is set for Tuesday, Nov. 23, and other actions include approvals for street signage, pole permissions, and highway committee referrals.

Little Mothers League Demonstration At Rhode Island Meeting
At the fall Rhode Island Federation of Women's Clubs session in Providence the Little Mothers leagues presented care of bottles and milk before about four hundred ladies. Six Pawtucket girls led the display, with a quiz by Mrs. Ira D. Hasbrouck. Irene Munroe and Jennie Robino of the Bristol League spoke for their groups, Robino bathing the club baby and Munroe explaining the process. Ice cream was served in the kindergarten rooms after the demonstration.

Fires Startled Neighbors on Local Streets
Two small fires were reported near the city. LeBaron Bradford’s greenhouse on Church Street burned briefly due to an overheated oil stove but was extinguished with garden hose before firefighters arrived. Woodwork and plants suffered damage. Earlier, Irene F. Usher’s Hope Street yard debris fire near back steps was controlled by residents and neighbors tearing down the steps to halt the spread.
