Comedy Sketches by Netopian Society at Congregational Church

The Netopian Society of the First Congregational Church will present two one act sketches Col Cheatem's Country Store and And the Lamp Went Out with baritone solos in DeWolf Memorial Chapel tomorrow evening. The Bristol Parent Teacher Association held a benefit Halloween masquerade and dance at the State Armory drawing over three hundred attendees from nearby towns. Town Will Not Charge for Sewage Plant Services

At a meeting of the Sewer Commission in the Town Council Chambers Prof H K Barrows from Boston, supervising engineer for the local sewage disposal plant, will not bill the town for June to August services totaling 1500 dollars. The commission plans to bid specifications by November 23, with trench work set to start by December 15.

Golden Wedding Anniversary Observed

Mr and Mrs John H O'Brien observed their 50th wedding anniversary at 476 Pleasant Street Malden Mass on Monday October 26. The couple were married in 1881 by Rev Charles Rogers. Mr O'Brien 73 and Mrs O'Brien 76 live in Malden with eight children and seven grandchildren. He worked as a boot maker and later as assistant caretaker at the Malden Public Library. Both enjoyed good health until this year when Mr O'Brien contracted pneumonia and is now convalescing.

Women of St Marys To Have Bridge Party

The Women of St Marys plan a Friday evening bridge whist at the St Marys Church auditorium. Tickets are selling fast and the ten highest scorers will receive elaborate prizes instead of per table awards. Committee chairs include Mrs Loretta Connell and Mrs Edward Morris with other organizers.

Governor Case Addresses Bristol Lions Club on Defence

Gov Norman S Case spoke at the Bristol Lions Club in the Hotel Belvedere last evening. Introduced by ex Senator Ezra Dixon he urged a strong national defence to preserve prestige and warned against insidious propaganda. Man Dies After Spile Accident On Riverside Lighter

George Anderson 45 of 35 Lakeside Street Riverside died at Truesdale Hospital Fall River after a spile slipped its chain and struck him on the head while guiding it along a lighter at the foot of Constitution Street He suffered a skull fracture and brain concussion and died Sunday morning He was employed by W V Pollers Company East Providence engaged by the lighthouse service for spile tests at the harbor site for the proposed depot He survived by wife and daughter in Brooklyn Archives include his parents three brothers and one sister
