Election Day Humor and Hype From 1896 Campaign
A 1896 column humorously forecasts a McKinley victory and urges every voter to cast a ballot. It mocks Bryan supports, notes the large number of Republican speakers across 13 states, and quips about political superstition while emphasizing the need for a strong map for Congress and Senate.

Juke Contest Prize Story and Ballot Storm Across Nation
The text notes a first prize award in the New York World's Prize Campaign Juke Contest, with a humorous story about voters and false gods used to illustrate political bolting. It cites a speaker from Indiana and a calves versus bull anecdote. It references Mr. Bryan touring 18,000 miles in 27 states and calls for a rest from his oratory as ballots drop nationwide today. The piece closes with the snow storm of ballots and the awaited verdict tonight.
