A housewarming and re opening at the Bristol Train of Artillery Armory on State street honored Col Alfred M Merriman M D longtime commanding officer. Speakers praised his decade of service and a silver loving cup and an American flag were presented. Two French anti tank guns plus a cannon transfer were noted as gifts and the event featured remarks from Bristol officials and local dignitaries.

Alicia Middleton of Bristol died May 12 1938 leaving a will filed in Bristol Probate Court naming the Carolina Art Association in Charleston as the recipient of miniatures daguerreotypes and ambrotypes and other works. The collection will be known as the Nathaniel Russell Middleton and Anna F DeWolf Middleton collection. Beneficiaries include the Charleston Museum and Jenkins Orphanage Endowment Fund. Executor named Rhode Island Hospital Trust Company. Will dated December 10 1937 seeks payment of debts and cremation with burial in Magnolia Cemetery and involves many pecuniary bequests to relatives friends and institutions.
