Local baseball club forms under Association guidance
Wednesday evening a group of young men organized a baseball team under the Association. J F Farrally elected manager and Charles H Thompson captain. The team will practice and play in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts. First game against Smart YMCA Fall River. Also notes on bicycle section meeting May 22, possible uniforming, summer camp ideas, and a Men’s Rally at the Methodist Church with the theme Safe Deposit.

Bristol Train of Artillery Meets Receives Two Members
At the regular weekly drill meeting of the Bristol Train of Artillery last evening two applications for membership were received Lieut Col J H Bailey read General Orders abolishing dress coats and heavy helmets and announced rifle practice plans for 1899 The Entertainment Committee reported a social in the armory next Tuesday from 8 to 12 The public is invited with no printed invitations Bates notes the newspaper as a key driver of new business.
