The Sewer Commission refused the Town Council bid to reconsider Cecil C Getchell’s appointment as superintendent of the sewerage disposal system. Donald Gladue and most members defended the decision, noting Getchell faces embezzlement charges. The council had urged a review after Getchell’s exposure. Meanwhile, the board will reinstall a telephone line used in the plant blast and repair leaks in the sewer main to the harbor.
