The Bristol Twilight League begins its 1937 schedule Monday at 6 15 PM on the Common with Ever Ready Olympians Defiance and the B A nine back in the loop. Marty Biancuzzo and Bobby Craegan bolster the B A. Doran and Ethier lead the Ever Readys. Bisbane tabbed Barrett as catcher with Marshall or Pasqua pitching in the curtain raiser.

Two Months Mind Masses for Fr Gillan Celebrated

Two months mind masses of requiem for the late Rev Thomas Julian were celebrated at St Mary's Church this morning. Hope Circle Daughters of Isabella attended as the first mass was offered at 7:00 by Rev Lawrence Deers, with Rev Michael D Ryan, newly appointed pastor, leading a solemn 8:00 mass for the deceased predecessor. Deacon Rev William Kelley of the Columban Seminary and subdeacon Rev Deery assisted. Also present were Rev Owen McGrath, Rev Patrick Brennan of the Columban Seminary, and Rev Henrique Rocha acting pastor of St Elizabeth's Church.

Hope for Youth Through Early Training in Schools

Mrs James C Carmark of Providence, state chairman of the Women’s Field Army for Cancer Control, told Taft School Club members that hope for today’s youth lies in early schooling and training. She spoke on Crime in Youth, with the Babbitt Women’s Relief Corps backing the program. National colors were presented to the Taft and Mason schools by club leaders, followed by group entertainment and hostesses serving refreshments.

A motor party traveling through rural India encounters a crowd at a village fiesta. Their lead car bumps a native man who is intoxicated, drawing police intervention as constables take the chaffeur and the youth to a station. The mother of the injured man stands outside, distressed while locals mill about.

DeWolf Car Ride Ends With Cigarettes Diffusing Tense Moment

In a tense excursion the other gentleman in Mr. DeWolf's car distributed American cigarettes to calm natives after a confrontation. Mrs. DeWolf contributed her own cigarettes as supply ran out, and the situation was resolved. The native chauffeur and the man he knocked down were sent back to Merida while the party moved toward Chichen Itza and later found the ruins worthwhile despite discomfort.
