Narrow escape as boy dodges car on Hope Street
Joseph Perry, 12, son of Manuel Perry, on Ryan avenue, narrowly avoided serious injury Tuesday around 2 PM after stepping into the path of Sheriff Philo W. Cady’s auto on Hope street in front of Burnside Memorial. The car swerved onto a steep embankment and overturned, injuring only the boy with a light hip bruise. the sheriff escaped unhurt and the vehicle was slightly damaged.

The Bristol Home for Destitute Children held its fiftieth annual meeting in St Michael's Chapel on May 9 with St Andrew's Club decorating the chapel. A large audience attended as two $50 checks were given in memory of Mrs John Norris and Mrs Louisa H Bowen. Retiring presiding officer Mrs Arnold and Mrs Bache received bouquets. New officers include Presiding Officer Mrs Wallis E Howe and Secretary Mrs Evelin B Ache. The aeronautical corps of the Rhode Island Naval Battalion orders a Sturtevant D style flying machine rated at 72 mph and 350 ft per minute ascent. It converts from seaplane to land craft, with a planned harbor hangar near Wardwell boat shops.
