Tragic New York wedding tale ends in suicide of Isaac F Williams
Isaac F Williams a 45 year old broker committed death by own action by shooting himself in his New York apartment on the eve of his planned marriage to Miss May Arnold of New York. His brother Captain Dr. W Fréd Williams returned with the body to Bristol. Funeral services were held at Juni per Hill Cemetery. The bride was stranded at the cathedral crypt and endured a grief stricken delay as details surfaced. Authorities noted possible financial reverses as a motive but no definitive reason or confidants were found. Williams had lived in Bristol earlier, had military ties, and was connected with a cotton brokerage in New York. His sister Minnie Emmons of Pittsfield Mass survives.
