Bristol Garden Club Wins Blue Ribbon at Flower Show

The Bristol Garden Club earned first prize in the calendar arrangement class at the Flower Show held at the Rhode Island Auditorium. Mrs. Fred M. Dixon Jr led the Bristol exhibit and coordinated the Girl Scouts section, with helpers Mary Mathewson Elizabeth Mathewson Peggy Connors Rhoda Hobson and Ruth Hazeldine. The centerpiece depicts an Italian garden with loggia marble pool fountain and a 40 foot cascade amid hundreds of blooms and tropical plants surrounding a warm pool for tropical specimens.

Rockett to Speak at Colt Memorial High Graduation

Nine Colt Memorial High School students competed this noon in the Federal Housing Administration essay contest. Local FHA officials attended the event with judges including Rep. John R. Magee and W. Town council approves ERA sidewalk plan for three streets
