Downtown Development Plan Loses Its Steam

TheDowntown development plan proposed by James St Angelo faced dim prospects after townspeople approved zoning changes for a new First National Store and Armacs. St Angelo offered to serve on a committee if residents in the Hope to Bradford block pursued further action. The Chamber of Commerce met and decided to await his report next month. Plans emerged for Christmas lighting by church groups, Bristol Days, and A and P area expansion. The Bayberry Garden Club agreed to redo Hope Street tubs with flowers, and board meetings were rescheduled one half hour earlier.
