Brown Freshmen rout Bristol High in errorless game
The Brown University Freshmen easily defeated Bristol High School 13 to 1 on the Common Friday afternoon. Bristol’s fielding was sloppy after wild pitching by Riche, who walked four in the first inning, while Brown played errorless ball and solid defense. Tobin starred for Bristol with a strong glove, but Brown led from the start with timely hitting and fast baserunning. Other items cover Supreme Court proceedings, a larceny case, and the death of Assistant Surgeon John Gibbs in Cuba, plus local obituaries and memorials.
