Lt. John A Moren USMC arrived home from the Korean war just 16 hours after his wife gave birth to a daughter at Ly ing In Hospital Providence on Sunday. The Morens of 2198 Mineral Spring Avenue North Providence welcomed their child as he traveled from San Francisco to New York then Providence arriving Monday morning. Grandparents are Master Sergeant and Mrs Anthony A Moren of Bristol.
Mr and Mrs Henry B Newman Jr of 409 Hope Street announce the birth of a daughter Sandra May on Sunday morning at Truesdale Hospital. Both mother and baby are reported doing nicely. Bradford Street widening for angle parking was completed last week by Rego and Sons for 1622 dollars. The project extended beyond the 8 ft plan, adding extra macadam. sidewalks are to be rebuilt with the same material.
The Women Auxiliary to the Kingsmen Bugle and Drum Corps sponsor a Scout Hall sale next Saturday at 1 p.m. on Franklin and Hope Streets with home made pastry and sides. Proceeds fund equipment and new uniforms for the Kingsmen Corps.
The Bristol Philatelic Society meets May 8 at 8 p.m. in the Congregational Church kitchen to finalize participation in a Stamp Exhibit in Bristol Historical Society rooms. A. A. Edmonds reports on April results and invites members planning to show stamps to notify him. Lt W. W. Worcester and son visit occurred in April. Juvenile guests listed include John White and others. Bourse books will be available, managed by Elwin A. Hill.
