Rev. Carmelo Negro, a Bristol native, will be ordained a Catholic priest in Chicago on May 22 at Santa Maria Adolorata Church by Auxiliary Bishop William D. O'Brien. Born May 27, 1924, he is the son of Mrs. Josephine Negro and the late Joseph Negro. He attended local schools and Sacred Heart Academy, Melrose Park, before taking vows in 1946 with the Pious Society of St. Charles. His first solemn high mass is scheduled for May 25 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
