Town Council approves road work and sewer connections

At the semi monthly session Town Engineer Harvey Stewell outlined repairs for Bristol Narrows road and the council voted to grade the lower road entrance for up to 1009. Officials discussed sewer connections for 12 Franklin street houses and coordinated highway and railbed work on Thames street.

New Bridge at Silver Creek Bid Notice

State Board of Public Roads invites bids today for a new concrete bridge at Silver Creek. The 20 by 48 foot structure with a 12 foot span will improve travel and prevent flooding at Washington street junction near the watering trough. Construction should be completed before September 1.

Bristol Apron Committee Elected for Brown Street Booth

Bristol Apron Committee of Rhode Island Hospital Block-Aid held a Monday meeting in Doric Club rooms. Mrs A W Anthony was named chairwoman of the apron booth project and Mrs Edward Leahy was chosen to lead booth decoration. Workers were urged to finish apron cutting and return finished items for pressing and packing. The hospital reports Bristol patient care cost for 1921 at 2548 20 dollars, the town’s exclusive expense.

St Michael's Brotherhood Entertainment in Chapel

Large turnout for St Michael's Brotherhood as Ins Gudd members hosted an evening in the chapel. Tenor Charles McMorgan offered solos while Miss Aidan Connery and Miss Mildred HT MacDonald sang duets and joined a quartet with Mrs Rounds and Mrs QODonnell. Ira Williams of Providence performed magic tricks. Refreshments followed. Arrangements were led by chairman Mrs Jo William Wood with committee members Mrs Lewis Hoar Mrs Witham C Manchester Mrs Joseph Hall and Mrs Benjamin MacDougall.

Trinity Choir Announces Parish Hall Concert Next Tuesday

The Trinity choir will perform in the parish hall next Tuesday evening with new part songs and old favorites. Among the pieces are a lullaby by John B Archer titled Baby Jim recently sung by the Masonite choir in Providence the Pilgrims Chorus by Wagner Schumann's Gypsy Life and Good Night Beloved by Ciro Pinsuti. Solos will be announced later.
