Pfc William J Bottomley and Pfc Pasquale L Grimo have been liberated from German POW camps. Bottomley, son of Mrs Catherine Bottomley of 4 Howe Street, was held five months at Hartmannsdorf 4 F and writes of swift movement toward home from Reims France. Grimo, son of Michael Grimo of 4 Usher Avenue, was flown from Germany to England and hospital care, with plans to return home soon.

Pfc. Andrew J. Meiggs 20 son of Mr. and Mrs. James Meiggs of Bristol has been killed in action in Germany. He earlier was listed missing since April 1 and had served with a military police unit in Paris before joining the First Army. He graduated Bristol High School in 1942 and was inducted May 21, 1943.

The original target was 12 000 with a 1 500 addition making it the largest yet. She urged old workers and many new volunteers to help as only a few have answered so far. Red Cross rooms operate daily Monday to Friday and evenings Monday through Wednesday.
