Mount Hope Chapter No 23 of the Order of Eastern Star was inspected by state officers in Masonic Hall Hope Street. Worthy Grand Matron Nettie E Thompson of Edgewood Worthy Grand Patron Alexander Mitchell of Westerly and Grand Marshal Lucetia Tinker of Connecticut led the inspection with other grand lodge officers. Over 200 members and guests attended including delegates from Rhode Island lodges. A chicken dinner preceded the inspection and Maybelle Forenneres presented gifts to the Grand Lodge. The event featured vocal solos by Raymond Paten Danvers Mass. The reception committee included Harry Womunro Mroo Mrs George T F Marshall and Mrs Varion Newman.
