Virginia Hartshorn A New England Saxophonist Reaches for Broadway
Parental foresight and a love of crowds propelled Virginia Hartshorn Ginger from Reading Massachusetts toward a musical career with Don Raymond s all girl band. The 22 year old saxophonist and vocalist has traveled the United States while staying true to New England roots and dreams of a Great White Way future. Ginger studied at a Boston secretarial school but chose orchestra work for its variety and social opportunities. She has played with ten bands over five years and the Don Raymond ensemble recently began an indefinite run at the New Bristol Casino after engagements in Fallmouth and Miami.
