Farewell Banquet For Captain Louis Gladue Of Life Savers
Captain Louis Gladue organizer of the Bristol Branch of the United States Volunteer Life Saving Corps received a farewell dinner at the corps headquarters. He was presented a gold ring engraved with the corps insignia by toastmaster Donat Jadue. Gladue and family plan to move to Newport New Hampshire to farm. He led the crew to the 1920 Rhode Island rescue championship and oversaw the Edgewood race team winning second prize in 1922. Dr Talcott and First Lieutenant Wilfred Gladue spoke on the branch’s good work. Vocal solos and praise for the new fife and drum band were offered. Banquet committee members were Wilfred J. Lemaire, William H. Burke, George F. Gladue, Howard F. Cunningham and Arthur J. Belmore.

At a special Bristol Aerie 953 meeting 20 membership applications were approved. Initiation in the Naval Armory is set for next Sunday with 100 new members to be admitted. Providence Aerie 99 degree team to perform the rites. Preparations include hosting 200 visitors.
