Paul and Edna Sanroma of Poppasquash Road, the List couple in the world to hold helicopter pilot ratings, will take delivery of their Hughes helicopter in September. They bought the $65,000 craft in Anaheim during the Helicopter Association of America Convention. Mrs Sanroma, a radiation physicist, uses the machine for medical work within 135 miles and travels over 1,000 miles weekly. the new helicopter should cut her travel time by over half.
Approximately 300 youngsters joined Bristol's 21st annual Kite Flying Contest on a clear day with about 75 kites on display. Winners across categories include Best Looking Homemade Airborne Kite Patricia Carter Kathy Oliver Scott Wallace and Highest Flying Kites boys Charles Couto Steve Sears Tony Cabral. girls Paula Pacheco Kathleen Belmore Shermi Ann Dwyer. Prizes went to top finishers as judges Gail Faraone E Lannigan and W Lannigan noted. John R Partington directed the event with recreation board and staff assistance.
