First Bristol Troop Scout Prep Night Plans Anniversary Events
The First Bristol Troop Boy Scouts held Prep Night in Scout Hall to finalize participation in the 35th anniversary reunion banquet and dance at the Bristol YMCA next Monday. JASM David Scoutcraft spoke on the anniversary banquet, while Richard Belmore and John Cardoza led instruction and activities. The Bugle and Drum Corps rehearses this week for an indoor Providence competition and will start a drive for new instruments and gear next week.

Firemen Barnstorm Grass Blazes Across Bristol Highlands
Local volunteer firemen were called out twice yesterday to suppress grass fires. Shortly after 1 30 p m a blaze on Sunset Road Bristol Highlands scorched a half acre of grass land. Around 4 p m they responded to Tower Street where another half acre burned. While answering that alarm they found a brisk blaze on State Street near Reservoir Avenue and this was quenched by one company while the others tackled the Tower Street fire.
