House Boat Sea Serpent Destroyed by Fire

Fire badly damaged the houseboat Sea Serpent owned by Capt. John Into at Sanford and Goddard shipyard near the harbor head. The blaze, discovered around 4 am by undertaker Robert McKay, was confined to the boat with help from local residents including Senator James O Church and family. The hull was left as waste, insured for about 300 dollars, with no hydrants in the area and a missing Hog Island searchlight cited as a strange coincidence linked to the incident.
