Sunday the Christian Sabbath and its evolving meaning
The author argues Sunday, not the Jewish Saturday, became the Christian holy day due to Jesus resurrection. He traces historical shifts from Sabbath to Sunday, notes Puritan critiques, and urges a balanced observance: keep Sunday holy with public worship, recreation, and avoidance of commercial excess, while leaving religious enforcement to Christian groups. The piece emphasizes rest, worship, and humane social welfare as guiding principles.
