Town Council Meeting Appoints Minor Town Officers
The Town Council met Wednesday evening and elected minor officers for the year. Philip Brady was elected clerk of the Board of Tax Assessors. Robert Newbold named chairman. Frank C Child became Sealer of Weights and Measures. Col. L. H. Callan re elected Surveyor of Highways. A long list of appointments followed, with Thomas F Johnson as Town Sergeant and many others in roles such as Auctioneers, Corders, and Public Weighers. Leon Benjamin sought lease of school lands 34B and 35. after hours of discussion the council raised the suspension and agreed to grant the leases on condition of timely payment and obligations to Solomon Nussenfeld.

School Committee meeting at Colt Memorial High School
The School Committee elected Rear Admiral John R. Edwards as President and approved raises for grade teachers from 420 to 700 dollars, with a new minimum of 500. Superintendent DeCoudres presented attendance and enrollment projections while noting housing and staffing plans for a 1450 pupil year. Ruth Beane and Marietta Burgess were hired as teachers, salaries set at 650 each, and Miss Annie Selley resigned as Truant Officer.
