Hard fought election won by Republicans in town votes
The annual town election produced a Republican victory with Wallis E Howe and John H Wall winning council seats and Dan Hezekiah C Wardwell losing. Voter turnout totaled 1144 of 1626 eligible, with results fielding multiple party endorsements and a post election recount confirming the gains for several candidates.
Warren election yields sweeping good government victory
In Warren on Wednesday the good government coalition swept the town ticket in a bitter contest. A record vote was cast with 1231 total. Daniel H. Morrissey defeated incumbent Max W. Laugy by 65 votes for First Councilman. Other results: Dr. John Denby over Gilbert R. Cole by 84. Herbert A. Nicholas over Thomas Gorman by 78. Jeffrey Jajeunesse over Ernest J. Dube by 81. George Gregory over Henry C. Gagnon by 104.
