Reception to Pastor Rex Wallace at First Baptist Church
An informal reception honored Rex and Mrs O H Wallace by the First Baptist Church members. The vestry was prettily decorated by the Men's Class. The Progressive Orchestra performed and a large purse was presented to the pastor. The Ladies Mite Society served refreshments. The Wallaces depart next Monday for Alton New Hampshire where Mr Wallace will pastor the First Baptist Church.

Death of Captain Samuel Hyde Cabot in California
Bristol honor roll reports Captain Samuel Hyde Cabot died in Chico California after an automobile crash He was born in St Louis in 1886 son of Harry Hyde and the late Alice Holmes Cabot He enlisted in 1916 served in the First Californian Cavalry at Nogales and later trained at The Presidio and Camp Lewis He went to France with the 316th Ammunition Train in 1918 returned April 1919 and married Edith Thornton in 1920 He was a former Bristol baseball pitcher and is survived by wife father, stepmother, sister Mrs Ray Webb McMullen of New Canaan, Conn and Pine Bluff, North Carolina.
