The Bristol town GOP committee endorsed Dwight D Eisenhower for state presidential primaries after a quiet meeting. Secretary Orlando J Bisbane said the draft Ike effort originated within the party and was decided by balloting with Ike receiving the-most votes.
An annual Red Cross appeal lists donations of 5.00 or more to the Bristol Branch. Contributions include 100.00 from Mr and Mrs William Angevine and 1000.00 from the Bristol Fortnightly Club, totaling 2037.50. Checks are payable to Red Cross Bristol Branch and mailed to General Chairman Albert F Means or Mrs Clara L Diman at Haffenreffer Foundation.
Town Council did not act on Marshall's proposal to place before taxpayers a resolution to require advance payment for Bristol County Water Co services. Council and town solicitor confirmed the practice is legal and filed with public utilities. a hearing before the public utility administrator could be requested.
